My little surprise - any thoughts on breed?

I'd love to see a pic of the Silver Sussex....

Hmmm, I am not sure how you get a chipmunk baby from that parentage. Bothe barred rocks and silver Sussex, which is actually the birchen color variety, have black chicks with some white markings, and no stripes. It doesn't add up from a genetics stand point, but who knows? It would be interesting to see this chick as it gets older.

That silver Sussex hen is gorgeous, btw.

I'll post pics of their progress. Sure will be interesting to watch it grow.

Just looking at the breeders page. She also has wyandottes and aracaunas. Could one of those be the culprit rooster?
What kind of comb does it have? If it has a rose comb then it could be 1/2 Wyandotte.
If it has a pea comb then it could be 1/2 aracauna.
If it has a single comb it is unlikely from either although lots of wyandottes can throw single combed offspring.
I was wary when you said barred rock because that would not throw wild type chicks.
The silver sussex also wouldn't throw wild type chicks.
So I'm still at a loss.
