It's attached to the liver only.

I usually reach in and grab the gizzard and pull the whole digestive tract out. The liver is attached to the digestive system and comes out with it. The gallbladder is fragile and easy to break.

I use a cut up kitty litter jug as a cone

And a PVC pipe cutter to chop the head off.
