My Marans eggs...

My Marans eggs seem to have a thicker Albumin than my other hens eggs...has anyone noticed the same with their marans?

Hmmmm....no one else noticing the same thing? The link I posted is to a picture of an egg that breaks down all the parts of an egg...so everyone could see what I was referring to.

Just giving you a bump as I don't have any Marans. I'm sure every bird could have some differences.

Hmmm....I never really looked close enough to see any difference. After breakfast tomorrow Ill come back with a report!

By 'thicker" do you mean like tougher? It doesn't break apart when you break the egg. My Marans eggs are sort of like that too, if that is what you mean!

Yeah kinda...it is tougher than the rest of the white...but also much thicker and takes longer to cook...it's kinda strange but tastes the same as the others...

Yeah mine are like that too...and trip out on the fact that today I had TWO double yolkers!

That's awesome for the double yolkers...I got two of them the other day myself...1 from one of my bcm's and 1 from one of my rsl's...it wasn't expected either as all my chickens are still pullets...
