(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have always wanted chickens, I first got them last spring.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
17chickens, 2 ducks, and 2 geese = 21 birds in total.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Some California tans, americanas, sapphire gems, black sexlink, and Rouen ducks, and African horn geese ( not a hundred percent sure that’s the right name) I also have three chickens I’m not sure of the breed
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love taking care of them, listening to them get excited to see me come to feed them, the fresh eggs, and it brings me one step closer to a homestead lifestyle!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to hunt, trap, and fish.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I am due to be married come next fall to my wonderful fiancé and we have a son and will be expecting another child come next summer.
I am a Mechanic by trade, specifically Marine motors ( boat motors). My little family lives in North eastern Wisconsin in Marinette county.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have known about BYC since I was in school when I decided I really wanted chicks! And now finally having them and not knowing a lot of people in my area that have chickens to help answer some of my questions!
