my mentally ill neighbor is in jail

That is crazy! I'm glad you were able to stop him before any of your birds were poisoned. You are such a nice person for still defending him after what he tried to do.
He really is a good kid he's just been delt a crappy hand his biological mother was a drug addict and it was his adopted parents that booted him dont get me wrong i was pissed he tried to poison my flock but he's not sleeping upstairs so idk he is just a kid

I just want to cry and scream when I hear stuff like this. They should not have kicked him out, but, especially if they had other children, they probably thought they were doing the right thing at the time. There is absolutely NO help or resources for parents in these situations :rant:mad::he:barnie
Yes, there are support groups, but, not really. I mean your the parent, so deal with it. He did what?! File charges! You want help? For what? No one actually cares enough to actually help, with real help, unless there is a diagnoses and then it has to be a certain diagnosis. Because anxiety or depression are too common place to be “special” and are shoved to the back burner. I’m SO glad you will help the best you can and that your daughter can be a witness. It’s such an important lesson. I’m going to cry in my corner now :hit
My cousin used to be a psychologist at a prison, he got so fed up with their treatment of the prisoners he quit. Everything. He completely changed careers to IT.
I do want to make sure that I emphasize you did the right thing. I mean, what else are you going to do? It’s the system that’s screwed.

My neighbors sucessfully did this and im now trying to get rid of my ducks before it happens to them, if you know someone in orlando fl or if you could re-post my for sale ad that would be amazing, thank you very much!
Your neighbors successfully poisoned your chickens?!?!?!?! Haven't you called the cops on them!??!!?

I have several friends that have children/grandchildren with mental issues. It can be very hard for them to get their meds. Some areas have few mental health care professionals for medicaid patients. They can only get a month's supply of some of them, so they have to go in monthly. With the doctors being overloaded, they can't get the patients worked in on time, so the patient can go several days, up to over a week, before being able to get an appointment, and get another prescription. It's sad that mental health issues are not addressed more adequately in this country.

Thank you. Your kindness is something I needed to hear today. Having dealt with many people with mental illness I've found being unable to afford them is a big problem. Bless you for watching out for him. I hope he is able to stabilize easily. My dog is on psych meds and they cost me $80 for three prescriptions for 3 months. When you have a mental illness you just don't see like the way others do.
I think the only reason I'm not totally freaked out is because I was a nurse on a behavioral unit in a nursing home so I have delt with it before and am not shocked but the abnormal things he does

because i have "no physical evidence" they wont do anything about it even though ive called the police before when they were threatening to kill all my animals with their guns 😤 im getting fed up with how the police turn a blind eye because its too much work
The police won't do anything about the neighbors who literally killed your entire flock of chickens? What kind of evidence are they looking for!?!?!?!? I'm so sorry about that.
