I just want to cry and scream when I hear stuff like this. They should not have kicked him out, but, especially if they had other children, they probably thought they were doing the right thing at the time. There is absolutely NO help or resources for parents in these situations
Yes, there are support groups, but, not really. I mean your the parent, so deal with it. He did what?! File charges! You want help? For what? No one actually cares enough to actually help, with real help, unless there is a diagnoses and then it has to be a certain diagnosis. Because anxiety or depression are too common place to be “special” and are shoved to the back burner. I’m SO glad you will help the best you can and that your daughter can be a witness. It’s such an important lesson. I’m going to cry in my corner now
My cousin used to be a psychologist at a prison, he got so fed up with their treatment of the prisoners he quit. Everything. He completely changed careers to IT.
I do want to make sure that I emphasize you did the right thing. I mean, what else are you going to do? It’s the system that’s screwed.

Even the crisis center is no help, all they do is wait till it's so bad that you are supposed to call the cops or go to the ER. Who wants to call the cops on your loved one? We want help before we get tangled up with the law! -been there

The police won't do anything about the neighbors who literally killed your entire flock of chickens? What kind of evidence are they looking for!?!?!?!? I'm so sorry about that.

They literally wanted video or camera proof, its ok im just going to move and start completely over with the original chickens i had ill have a flock of Brahmas and more duckie babies and ill have cayugas with my pekins and make beautiful babies theyll go to hell for what they did and ill be somewhere else loving on my bird babies

I have several friends that have children/grandchildren with mental issues. It can be very hard for them to get their meds. Some areas have few mental health care professionals for medicaid patients. They can only get a month's supply of some of them, so they have to go in monthly. With the doctors being overloaded, they can't get the patients worked in on time, so the patient can go several days, up to over a week, before being able to get an appointment, and get another prescription. It's sad that mental health issues are not addressed more adequately in this country.

Not to mention the regulated meds. Those are so much harder to get! Some doctors are allowed to call them in but you need a special license. otherwise it could easily turn into an all day ordeal just trying to get your scripts refilled. Don’t forget the reduced hours right now.

That place either puts them into a “hospital”, the only one they deal with, or threaten you with child abuse charges if you refuse. You have 24 hrs to get help yourself. They will wash their hands of you if you don’t let them get their way. Anyone in my area will, very likely, know exactly which place I’m talking about. It’s that bad. I almost forgot, there is one other place you can take them to yourself, but they say they don’t see why they’re there or they don’t have room.

Theyre in my backyard, i have cameras but some of the cameras back there arent mine and theyre unfortunately able to be turned off

That is a difficult situation. My son also suffers from mental illness on top of developmental delays. He often has very heated arguments with voices in his head. It is very difficult for us to watch and very stressful, upsetting and frightening for him. He has been in hospital for over two years now and they have not found a medication that helps him for any length of time. Fortunately, he has never hurt anyone or animals. Unfortunately, he does sometimes hurt himself. It is very difficult for parents to deal with this especially if they have no background in mental illness or they don't have any support from other family, community or the health system. We are glad that here in Canada, we don't have to pay for his stay in the hospital or all the trial medications.

The medications often have bad side effects, which could be why this young man stops taking them periodically. Or they get the idea that they are cured and don't need them anymore especially when they have to pay $$$ for them. His condition probably also means he can't keep a job.
Kudos to you for trying to help him.

Jail is probably not the best place to be dealing with a mental illness. There needs to be more supports in place as a society to prevent incidents like the one you experienced. As others said, probably best to increase your security in the form of locks and a camera.

He went to jail then they take them to the hospital to the psychological ward at the hospital he has lived next door for 5yrs now he has trouble keeping a job till now when he gets out a friend of mine is going to give him a job at his company filing paperwork i have locks and a trail camera on my coops my other neighbor and I had our eggs stolen a few yrs back come to find out there is a homeless man that lives down by the river by my house i caught him stealing eggs and locked him in the coop till he calmed down enough to talk i told him just ask i got 64eggs a day back then just ask for them don't steal from me he was shocked I didn't call the police i now see him every Sunday he comes up to my house i wash his clothes he takes a shower i make him a meal give him a dozen eggs and 2 loaves of bread
