Hello,

So I recently fenced off a run for my chickens and ducks until the threat of hungry foxes has passed then they can all go where they please.

Unfortunately I had to fence off their stream, because I couldn't figure out how to allow them access without them leaving the run.

Anyway I was watching the ducks potter about in the run this afternoon and saw my drake Philip trying to take a bath in the drinker. He was billing water out and bathing in the mud, he was a mess. SO I took the hint and let them out into the stream to play. They loved it. They have a large water trough but obviously they like the stream better.

My goodness, they must have needed a bath. Such splashing and carrying on!

I have noticed my 2 Muscovy girls are rather laid back in their bathing practices. They go behind the barn to the small tub and barely make a sound but when they come back around front they are soaking wet. They preen for a long time.

Now my other ducks look like yours! Just let me dump a pool and watch them all come running so they can splash all the water out of the pool.

MOF, I bet that is why your ducks love the stream. Endless supply of water no matter how much they splash. Mine all jump in, splash around a while then have an almost empty pool!

The stream is great though mostly it's about 1/2 foot deep, but there are also some nice deep pools nearby which are about 4-5 feet deep. They like diving in the pools.
