I am new to all things chicken. All I know is the guy is supposed to lay brown eggs. With that being said, I would really love to introduce you to him/her.

Brown Bear seemed to grow in size very quick. BB also seemed to feather up faster too. If I stick my hand in the cage for any reason BB is the one on the scene checking it out and pushing others out of the way. BB will eat from my hand but is more interested in trying to find. Spot high up my arm to purchase. My back chick loves to perch on my thumb, but BB will not allow it any more. BB will jump higher and slide my little black one right off.

Any ideas on breed or gender? I believe it is supposed to be a golden comet female, but it seemed to me the chicks were all mixed up at the store.

I think it is a partridge rock, and probably a pullet. Post updated pictures at 6 weeks of age if sex isn't clear by then. They are cute chicks!
Just curious what do you think if the black speckles? Does that indicate anything. Also the feathers on the back of her neck are looking redish now.

The pale color and spots at the breast aren't normal for a partridge rock, so it may be some kind of hybrid like an Easter egger. One of those wait and see chicks that will most likely show its true colors later on. Looks nice and healthy, whatever breed it is.
She is very interesting and very fun to watch. I got two golden comets and 3 mystery brown egg layers. There is another chicken that looks almost identical to this one, but the coloring is more defined on her head.

I'm going to be honest, I'm not sure what this chick is but it doesn't look to be a Partridge Rock. It lacks pencilling on the chest feathers coming in. It's an e^b chick judging by down which is what Partridge Rocks are so that's what's leading to a similar appearance. It's likely an Egger of some sort. Update as it feathers out!
