Anyone have a clue? Was "supposed to have been a ameraucana pullet" but I'm thinking it's just a bardyard mix - but I'm sure I don't have a clue.

Looks like some sort of red sex link mixup.

ETA: Hatcheries seem to be getting worse and worse. The mystery birds included that I've had and seen appear to be mutts, and people have been getting chicks that end up being not the breeds they ordered. It's almost as if there's a big assorted group of chickens somewhere that they're taking eggs from.

I agree! I'm not going to be breeding so it's a non issue, but I sure would LOVE it if hatcheries could be ACCURATE! ok, I got one more Pic. . . this came with the other. . . whatcha think?

I'm no expert, and I don't have experience with Easter Eggers, but that last pic looks like an EE roo. :)

Don't quote me on that, though. LOL

He's certainly a handsome fella!

I agree with easter egger also.Easter eggers are so mixed up(originally hatcheries crossed the araucana with brown egg layers to get what we call easter egger and they sell as ameracaunas) and that is why you can see so many different colors hatch from an easter egger flock.Fun to have if you just want the green or brown eggs and the gorgeous colors of the hens and roosters. If you decide to breed he is a nice looking rooster.

Where did you get them and how old are they?
They are Approx. 14-16 weeks old. The guy at the Vet/ Feed store said they get their chicks from a hatchery in E.Texas.They seem to be friendly with each other for the time being so I think that I will keep them together for as long as possiblle. My little flock of 12 hens is just a wee bit segregated with 4 in one group and 8 in the other, and the boys just chilli'n with each other. . . We'll see how long this last.
