I've been cruising this site for quite a while now looking for answers to my chicken questions but recently had trouble finding what I was looking for. I signed up, started my own thread, and hopefully I'll get a few good answers. In the meantime, BYC recommended I come here and introduce myself. I'm a relatively new chicken owner (got our first ones about a year and a half ago) in the southern Indiana region. Hopefully I can make some new chicken enthusiast friends and acquaintances as well as pick up on some good poultry advice. Figure I'll post a few pictures of my flock at the bottom for the heck of it if I can figure out how. Looking forward to hearing from and meeting lots of new and interesting people! :)

Hi :welcome Evan

Glad you could join the flock! You have some beutiful looking birds there, have really enjoyed looking through your pics. Here is a lovely thread from the where am I where are you section of the forum https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/730582/indiana-bycers-here I'm sure you will find lots of other chicken enthusiasts in your area on there.

Wishing you the very best of luck in the future with your flock. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Thank you so much for the warm welcome. It didn't take long at all to get an answer to my question, putting my worries to rest. I browsed through your pictures, you have some amazing chickens! I've always thought polish chickens were neat and yours are especially beautiful. Again, thanks for the welcome and hope to hear from you and many others in the future! :)

Welcome to BYC, Evan. Glad you decided join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. :o) Thanks for posting the pics. You have a beautiful flock. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Welcome! You have a very pretty varied flock (My favorite kind). What breeds do you have?

P.S. I think the majority of us are chickaholics.

Wow, thank you guys so much for the warm welcome! We try to keep a varied flock, seems like anything else would be too.....bland, for lack of a better word. We started with a barred rock, an ee, a slw (who was supposed to be an ee) and three rir's. The barred rock and slw have since been the entrees for some pretty good dinners but now we have 4 ee hens, 2 ee roos, 3 rir's, 7 leghorns, 1 brahma and 2 hardware store hens who were also supposed to be ee's but definitely are not. We also have some brahmas, slw's, and buttercups coming in this weekend. Haven't looked at any of your pix yet since I'm on my phone. What is your flock like?

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Pretty flock, you should have a very colorful egg basket also!
