Hi everybody. I've been trolling you the site for about amonth now and all the helpful information is so appreciated. I knew only that there were chickens. Red ones and white ones. White eggs and brown eggs. Silly me.I am so hooked. I can't get enough. What has happened to me. Now i've gone and ordered some expensive chicks from Greenfire. Man, this stuff is powerfully addictive. I'm all in now. I have a little flock of Sex links and some easter eggers. Three Silkie girls. And I've just ordered four Cream Legbars. I think these will be the bird of the future. I'm interested in the "great Aruacana" myths. My eggers are all a little bit different. Very anxious to see what we come up with. Starve to death eatin' Silkie eggs. I have bunches of questions. See you in the yard.

! Pleased to have you in our community! You do indeed sound hooked! That's an affliction a lot of us on BYC have. I started with the idea of getting a "couple" of chickens to raise to eat...that's was hundreds of chickens ago. Now it's layers and turkeys and ducks. Heck, even goats and pigs!! I got it bad! Good luck to you!

It's true that you would starve on silky eggs but, they are one of the best broody breeds. People tend to a get a couple so they can pop other eggs under them when they go broody.

Easier than an incubator.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan
