My neighbor has too many! Help me rehome some siblings!! Florida

Please not for meat! We are looking for a loving home and trying to find the best way to reduce the numbers. All chicks hatched May 31. They are 10 weeks now. Very sweet birds.

I think to start with we will do some sets.

First set is brother and sister. Their mom is a Golden Laced Wyandotte and dad is a big Delaware. Prefer to rehome both together. It reduces stress on rehoming. Does anyone need a male to breed or lead a flock?? This is your boy. Bonus sister comes with. This male is my favorite. He tends to watch the coop at bed time and makes sure everyone is in. Love him!!

My neighbor is very busy this week with school starting. She has given me permission to help with rehoming if anyone either wants to come pick them up or needs us to drive them. We really need to reduce flock size here. I am making a trip up to Ocala tomorrow to rehome a couple of mine. Does anyone in that area want to meet up with us while we are in the area to pick up these 2 sweeties?

We live in the treasure coast area of Florida and if anyone closer wants to come pick them up let me know.

Next set is these 2 Delaware brothers. If anyone has enough space and hens would you please be willing to take both boys? If you have space and not enough hens then just get more hens!! Win win. Very nice boys. Pure Delawares. I will ask and see if my neighbor will throw in a Delaware pullet if you are kind enough to take 2 males. They really do need a loving home.

Perhaps you could post on Craigslist or take them to a local chickenswap? The thing I see here on BYC is most of us have our own hens...many don't need more or they want to hatch their own or get a certain breed. I hope you find them a good home!

Our hope is to find loving homes but it's not always possible. We will keep them as long as possible and if no home is available then we will eat the boys. It's just the way it is but we try to make every effort possible to find a home that could use another boy due to loss of rooster or maybe someone has hens that need a rooster.

Our local area is saturated with chickens. They are everywhere here. The farms here won't even take hens. We have been driving hours to free rehome out of our area. Past 2 Sundays we have made day trips out of rehoming chickens. 3+ hours one way. Takes us 6-7 hours in total to drop the chickens and return home. It's a lot of work but really love the babies. I was hoping someone out of our area could see the post and have a loving home.

Yesterday my boy hit the jackpot. We drove 3 hours and the new owners drove 2 hours to meet up. My boy went with a pullet from his flock and they are living the great life 5 hours away. It's incredible what we did yesterday. I couldn't thank the new owners enough for taking such great care of my babies.

You just never know where a good home could use a boy.

Yes. Most birds have gone but the brother and sister are still there. They are still needing a loving home. They have grown a bit and are very pretty. These 2 are my favorite. I have their mom and dad and their sisters in my flock. Beautiful mixed birds.
