Another story of why you shouldn't use a heater in your coop.....
I don't have all the details of what caused the fire but from what I hear, they had a heater in the coop.
I was walking by their house today and noticed black smoke coming from the back of their house. I thought they were burning brush. I didn't know they had moved their coop to that spot and what was burning was the coop itself. By the time the fire department showed up it had burned down to the ground. One chicken was wandering around, they may have lost the rest.
Very sad and scary.
Don't use a heater in your coop, they don't need it!!
