Just added a 5 month old pullet to my young flock. I only have 2 other chickens in her coop and they are 1 and a half months old. She has established that she is the head in the flock. I have had her for almost 2 weeks now. She only comes out when I force her out, but quickly goes back in when I'm not guarding the door. I have tried scratch and treats outside in the run, but the other two are the only ones that ever come out. Do I just need to put the chickens out and shut the coop door so they can't get back in all day?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you!

Maybe give her a little more time before forcing them outside all day. There must be a reason that she does not want to go outside - maybe she's scared of something (be it in her tiny mind or not). If you put their food and water outside of the coop then maybe that will encourage her.

Leave the door open. She'll eventually come out on her own, especially when she sees the other two.

I leave it open every day so that they always have access to their food and water in the coop.
I did move their water out into the run this morning though. She came out a little for that after breakfast. Baby steps.
Thank you!
