Thanks for all the nice responses. It is screwed to the wall with little l shaped brackets I made. They are the weights out of the long fabric blinds. I just bent them in half and drilled holes.
It is about 4 feet long x 2 feet high x 5 inches thick. Yes I need a lot of feed because I have 15 chickens. I know it sounds like a lot but it should stay fresh long enough.
I am going to put the thin board on the top over where the trough is. It is hard to describe it. If you look in the third pic, you can see the food on the edge of the board. That is 3/4 of an inch thick. I am going to cut a board about 1 1/2 inches thick to cover a little of the trough. I will post a pic when I am done.
All of the things used were things we had around. You'll never guess what the wood was from! My dad works at a trucking company and the wood is all from the walls of an old truck they tore apart for scrap. We have a whole shed full of wood now!
