My New Babies

I bought these chicks at delivery to TS on May 6th. They said they were hatched May 5th and shipped without food or water yet. These are feather pictures taken on May 12th. This will be Fun. At least a good guess.
Looks like they could be female. Do you remember what day they started growing tail feathers? By a week old, females will have distinct tail feathers visible while the males won't.

Well, today is the 17th, technically the 18th because its after midnight. I really noticed their little tuffs of tail feathers about 5 days ago now. Plus, their trying out their little wings now. I'll take a picture in the morning. What I do know is they are both Polish. One is a White Crested Black Polish and the other is a Silver Laced Polish.
So, this should be fun. They are friendly. The White Crested is more skiddish and at first wants to take off but settles after a minute when held. The Silver one settles quickly and will easily fall asleep in your hand while petting. But, while your holding the White Crested then the Silver chirps loudly for her. The opposite not so much. But, they are cute and funny to watch.

I'm guessing they're female if their tail feathers are both about the same size. Give it a few more weeks and if there's a boy, his waddles will be bigger and redder.
They're super cute though! I can't have Polish because I need them to be able to see aerial predators...

Sorry you don't know how to do it right, but plenty of people have used feather sexing as a fairly simple and effective method.
feather sexing only works if one parent was a slow feathering and one was a quick feathering I will stick to my method been 100% accurate... if it comes out the shell screaming its a male so far been accurate

nice looking chicks but im not a wynedotte fan... one of my 2 silver laced eats its eggs and neither lay very nice eggs... love their temperment tho....
egg eating is either lack of calcium and protein or a learned behavior never had an egg eater besides my goose lately
