I am so glad I joined this group. I never new about the danger to chicks from slippery newspaper and I never new about feeling grit. It explains the health problems we use to have with our chicks and chickens.
I put wire down over the newspaper and most of my chicks jumped onto the perch for the first time since I put it in while trying to avoid the wire. Diamond/Jewel(I was calling her diamond but am now thinking Jewel instead) and Dora came towards me instead and Diamond/Jewel tried to climb into my lap bad chased my hands around looking fine treats the entire time. Such sweethearts!
