My new baby! (Can someone give me an ID please!)

jdywntr - Stinky is very pretty!! Thank you for the lovely photos.. It gives me some idea what my little fellow might look like!

& duckyfromoz thanks for letting me know that they can grow happily together! The duck is already almost twice the size of the little turkey! The silly little thing is sooo happy with his ducky pal. It's quite cute to watch the turkey... they have funny personalities!

One thing I can't get over is how small ducky's little wings are! Do Muscovys fly? With those little winglets I can't imagine he / she ever taking off!

Now.... next step....how do I tell if I have a duck or a drake?

Muscovy do fly. Those baby wings never look like they will grow to support flight.

I recently clipped the wings of mine. Sex is hard with muscovy (if that's what it is) size is the easiest indicator. My female is very petite and the boys are huge. If it is not muscovy you can voice sex (not 100%) around 8-12 weeks. Otherwise, coloring (if not muscovy) would be and indicator.
Good luck.

The little wings are soooo cute. It is hard to imagine that they will ever grow big enough to fly

I've been looking at lots of posts on how to tell whether it is a duck or a drake!! All I can say about this little tike is it has thick legs! But I have nothing to compare it to so I suppose I'll just have to wait. I don't really mind what sex it is

I'm happy with anything!!

I've just found an incubator to borrow off a neighbour! So now I just need to find some eggs to try it out with! I'd love to hatch a few little duckys... I have enouigh room for a bunch of them!

I'm glad you all thing it is as cute as I do!

I just feel sorry for the little thing because it doesn't have any duck friends!! My husband has called him / her "Trigger".. so now we have a name!

Went out last night the little turkey friend was roosting up high with the big chickens leaving poor Trigger all alone on the ground. Took turkey off his roost & shoved him into the overnight cage with Trigger for snuggles!

I have read in places that Muscovy sometimes roost. Is this true? and if so, how high do they like to roost?
