Maybe dumb question but.......
don't you have to be concerned about them gettin sick from thier droppings in thier water and or from them getting wet in their water ?

yes you do have to worry them pooping in the water - but I am a stay at home chick mommy so I am able to change the water ALOT that is why there is barely any water in the dish.

their fett get wet but they dont get totally soaked, I found with the other babies I had they loved to play in the water alittle I keep the dish slightly tilted so they dont get stuck and are able to get back out.

these little guys are so fun to watch - so full of energy.

they are getting a few room-mates this weds - dont know what kind yet -

They are truly adorable, but they're showing you their true colors....already splashing in puddles at an early age, making a mess....They are just going to give you that cute look....and ALL WILL BE FORGIVEN! Thanks for the cute pics! I also like the one of the chick giving you that cute look of mischief.

Aww they are soo cute!!! I have placed an order with Ideal, I got 4 assorted bantam cochins in the mix, I can't wait to see what colors I get! And I agree, the other 2 look like OEGBs of some sort. They are adorable, thanks for sharing the pictures.

What store? is TSC???
Also what is an egg tooth??

Their behavior sound just like my new chicks. they are maniac's DH lkeeps reminding me we are in for it once they are all grown and out in the coop

They are adorable. The two yellow ones look just like my Light Brahams I just got. If they have feathers on their feet and eyeliner on their eyes when their eyes are closed- LOL

TSC is Tractor Supply Company
The egg tooth is a wee little sharp piece at the tips o' thier cute litte beeks, it is what they use to "cut" thier way out of thier egg. I don't know how long it takes but it goes away pretty quickly after they hatch.

yes these cute little bundles of fluff are showing thier true colors - they are ALWAYS running around the brooder at mach 10 and than all of a sudden fall over

scares the crap out of me everytime they do it.

everytime I put my hand in the brooder - the cochins will charge it - so I either 4 brave little pullets or 4 roos LOL

they are going to be so fun to watch when they are old enough to go outside -

cgrn -- that baby is so cute - love that color.

I have noticed that some of the baby's have already lost thier egg tooth - the two little oegb still have thiers - and they all are getting a few wing feathers.

I cant wait to go to TSC and see what new babies they are getting in - so I can add more cutness to the brooder
