Yes, I am quite willing to enable, I mean communicate to SO's and spouses that this is a necessary part of a quilters life.

It is a longarm quilting machine.

All it does is quilt. You put your quilt top, quilt backing and batting on rollers and it sandwiches the layers and you do decorative quilting with it.

It is a luxury that I hope to turn into a home based business along with Tupperware and a garden center next spring.

*edited to add that the fabric I am quilting will be placemats.*

Wow Terri that is really cool. I have no idea how to quilt, but I can imagine getting that thing is like going from hand sewing to using a serging machine. CONGRATS.

AWESOME!!! We have a quilting store here that has a huge quilting machine that is laser guided and we can go in and use it for $10/hr. Congratulations!!

I wish I had room for something like that......this spring I had went to visit my Dad in Illnoise. He took me and my cousins to some friends and the lady had a huge barn for her quilting. She had a quilting group that met there quite frequently so there was 3 machines like that plus frames with quilts in progress. It was really awesome!
