I purchased a prize roo last week, ill put his pic on when i get my camera back!
The lovely lady that sold him to me knew that I would give him a nice home and she knows that I have MS and dont work anymore.
She is a well known legendary silky breeder in this region.
She let me take my pick of her flock of roos.
He is a red boy with black tips, a textbook perfect bantam.
She said he would usually fetch $400. but she sold him to me for $40. along with some also perfect white pullets.
He is still young but im hoping to get some partridge coloured chicks when he breeds with the whites.
she told me to mate him with the whites then mate him again with their offspring to get partridge colours.
Then i will show one or two!!!
im really excited.
I need to buy an incubator as well as ive just started a local silky bantam club and im getting lots of calls from people wanting silky hens!!
This is going to be lots of fun.
My banties were pets until now but ill start serious breeding so ill have lots of littlies.
