You are correct the growl sound is usually a male and with the silvers it is hard to tell without vent sexing. My females are very vocal but the sound is different then the male makes. You may have lucked out and gotten a male and 2 female silvers. if this is the case they will be okay together but watch that the do not peck on each other. good luck
