You go Red! wish I could do that but every time I pile stuff up on the ground fire ants infest it and before long it is a big pile of fire ants. Trying a plastic composter now off the ground.

That’s brutal about the fire ants. And I bet chickens won’t even eat ‘em?

Today was our first day significantly above freezing in a while - took advantage and piled up a bunch of the bits the flock had pulled off the pile, then added some coop cleanings and about a dozen barrels of leaves harvested from the neighbor’s yard. Always good to get the pile stirred up and add a bunch more carbon!

Hoping to grab a load of food waste in the next day or two...a lot less fun when it’s cold out and near impossible with significant snow on the ground!
