This site has been so helpful to me as a new chicken mom and I was hoping I could get some more feedback on things I have found here. My chicks are barred rocks they are 9 days old. I lowered the brooder temp from 95 at 3 days old to 90 at one week directly under the heat light. My plan was to drop 5 degrees every 5 days. This means Sunday I should drop again but my box is fairly big, 4x5 and they currently utilize it all but sleep under the light. Does this mean they are not ready for another temp drop? I don't want them to be miserable but also don't want to baby them to much though it is very difficult not to spoil and baby! I'm in eastern Washington so when they move outside to their coop in another month or so they will be in 60s by day and freezing at night. I know I need to get them used to the cold but I don't want to do it too fast.
My last thing is by all advice and photos on here I think I have 4 hens and 2 I'm not sure if I post pics will you all help me decide!?! Thanks in advance for the help and advice.
