Hi all I'm really excited about our new chicken coop and run and wanted to share it with others for inspiration etc. I've made a short video below for people to watch, let me know your thoughts!

You have everything sooooo neatly in place.. Just a few questions.. What are your chicken breeds ? What type of predators are of concern in your area ? Chicken wire would not hold up to raccoons here across the pond. You don't have those there, correct? Just curious, do you live in the city or outside in the rural area?

WISHING BEST AS ALWAYS.

Hi thanks for your reply! I have 2 British tailed Araucanas and a Buff Sussex. No raccoons (thankfully!) in the UK. Foxes are the biggest threat the chickens In the UK but I have two dogs and the scent of the dogs is supposed to keep them out but hopefully the wire is enough to keep them out. I also hope the fact that he house and run is raised off the ground is good deterrent. I live in a little rural village just outside of Nottingham (think Robin Hood).

Nice video and set up!

What is under the run portion..is it elevated for ease of access?
Love the storage under the coop....well thought, out both the space and the contents.

Are there any windows for light and ventilation for humidity and ammonia exhaust in the coop?

How cold and hot does it get in your climate?

Might want some bigger perches, they actually like to flatten their feet when roosting(sleeping).

Mine quite like their round dowel perches, could probably use branches if they don't like the boards. Beautiful little home you have for them! Can't wait to build is when we move!

Hi! Good point about the perches I was thinking about changing them. We have some old branches which are quite thick we might change the perches for. As it's still summer in the UK I am leaving the door open at night for better ventilation but we are going to get some windows that can be opened slightly ready for winter to improve ventilation. We have quite a mild climate in the UK, it can get cold at winter but never really anything major, it can go below freezing in winter but never anything too drastic.

Underneath the run is simply soil which we are holding back with the railway sleepers and then flattened and covered with the weed membrane and then covered with the turf protector.
