Great Coop!!! You must live somewhere where it doesn't get cold, though....lucky you.

Love the rustic look. I make mine out of barnwood. I love the fact that I don't have to paint!

I'll have to remember the clean-out trap door under the roost....very good thinkin.

Okay, I have to hijack the thread for a minute. My 11lb cat can knock the breath out of me when he jumps on me. Does you cat break your ribs when he lands? Sheesh! He's humungeous! (And very pretty!)

I think you did a great job... I'm guessing you are in SC as it seems from where you got your hay. I have to agree with everyone on the nesting boxes. I set my only 4" off the floor for my silkes, but their roosts are only a ft off the floor (something to do with this breed). The issue is, you don't want nest sleepers who will go for them for the height, and you don't want leg damage from leaping down. A ladder is a good option too!

Oh, and I had several Maine Coon and Maine Coon Mixes growing up... my mom still has of my full breed one's who has cancer now I'm afraid. At his weight peak he was 32 lbs. My currently dog is only 27!!! LOL

Those cats can be better then dogs to have around for preditors!
