This will be for 6 hens. It is going to go inside the dog run we're converting for them.

Here's their roost

Here's the door on the back so I can get the eggs and clean it out.

And here's the ramp. I'm going to put it up on cinder blocks so it will be a couple feet off the ground.

I hope we get everything finished soon! I'm ready to get my chicks!

Looks good but I would change your locks. Raccoons would be able open those.

Try this kind or something similar. Are you going to have a door so you can lock them up at night?

Cleaning might be a pain at first glance. You may want to modify it somewhat if you have not already addressed that issue in some manner with a large opening. I would hinge the whole front rear panel or side panel down of the coop to give easy excess to the inside.

That's a good idea. I'll talk o my husband about doing that. There are a few things I need to add to it. The windows on the front are the only ventilation so I need to add some roof vents. My husband's grandfather built it for me when I told him I was getting chickens!

Thanks for the tips. I am still getting everything ready for them so I really appreciate the advice. I had chickens years ago but they were free range and I ended up having to give them away before they even started laying. This is my first time making a run and coop for them.
