My New Geese........What Kind? Named them Emo & Emma!!!!!

They are White Embdens! I can tell that they are male and female because the female has the little thing under her belly and that is what tells then apart for me!

I do not think they are pure embdens yours have long slender necks?

Unfortunately, they don't look like a male and female to me, they look like an 'old' gander and a 'young' gander. One way you can tell with embdens is by the color of their beaks, females usually have a 'pink' beak. Also, the one on the right doesn't have it's lobes yet, which signifies that it is young. Both geese and ganders get the lobes, the goose's lobes get bigger (lower) when she is laying eggs.

You can kind of see the difference in beak colors in this pic, female in front, male in back.

In this pic you can see the lobes, the one on the left (front) and in the middle are adults (1+ years), the one on the left (back) and the one on the right are 'babies' (about 6 months old).
ETA: BOTH the adult embdens in this pic are MALES and BOTH have lobes

ETA again: This pic has the 2 young embdens (notice the lack of lobes); the one in the front is male, the back one is female.

Whew!! DW just informed me that the girl we got them from said that one of them was laying eggs before we got them. They were eating the eggs. I don't think they were getting fed enough over there though. They are much rounder now!

Yes, but the girl is as religious as they come, & I've known her for a few years, so, I don't think she'd lie about it. She's a very sweet girl, & she has gotten hundreds of my birds over the last few years.
