I got my new girl today! I can't get over how pretty she is. I'll get better pictures once she starts coming out of the coop more (she's a little shy).

What a pretty girl..... Has she Buck wheated for you yet?

She's very quiet. I haven't heard any "Buckwheat" out of her. The lady I bought her from said she thinks she's a chicken!

Which makes me thing she is a "he". Which is fine but you wont get any eggs.

I'm almost thinking that also. We bought her as a hen though. Maybe she's just stressed out?

Is there a way of telling males and females apart? I've just learned to listen to their call.

She has the "look" of a hen to me. She looks about the same age as some of mine and their wattles are starting to show. Of course you can't tell for sure until you here her buck-wheat.

I always thought she had that hen "Look" too. She looks about 6 months to me. She is just s sweetie!

Yeah, I can't tell till ya hear them and sometimes when they are older they have that 'hump' to their back
but she looks girlie from the front....nice pictures!..
