My new physco horse! (reasons for physco label found)

she recognized the difference when you handled her. Horses are smart enough to know the diff. and respond to you much differently then she did to him. Don't be feeling sorry for her as she will tune in on that, just be confidant, loving and gentle and you will have one amazing horse. Sorry, I couldn't see her due to only having dial up where we live. Hopefully, you can post a photo of her? Good luck with her.

Ok. Here she is without the tie down the first time i rode her. she actually enjoyed herself after i gave her some slack and took that tie down off

Can I give a bit of unsolicited training advice? In my opinion:

Don't canter under saddle until she is completely comfortable and balanced at walk/trot under saddle and balanced cantering on the lunge/free lunging. Don't ride much- I would do a lot of ground work, personally, and maybe ride two-three times a week, lightly, until she's settled and comfortable.

Don't let the tie-down tempt you. It will only remind her of bad things. Pitch it... it is a fix of a symptom... fix *the problem*- probably lack of balance, strength, and trust; also possibly hind end lameness (hoof issues, sacroiliac joint issues come to mind).

If you feel safe doing it- what about a rope halter/sidepull? Jumping hackamore? Eliminating the bit altogether for a little while may let her past some of her 'baggage'. If you do go into a bit- I would suggest a double-jointed 'bean' mouthpiece, dee ring or eggbutt snaffle. Not super thick (thicker is not always better), but not particularly thin either. Perhaps something like this:

Myler bits are also rather nice in a lot of ways: I like the MB02 mouthpiece with an eggbutt. They are a tad thin though, so aren't always the greatest choice.

She looks good but still something up in the last pic. See how she's just not 'there' in her hind leg? Could just be a wonky photo, happens often enough, but something to think about.

Good luck- these horses can be tricky but worth every bit.

well, turns out i dont get physco. i freakin hate my parents and this place. so ive been forced to give up riding for the next six years which is about when im guessing ill have any kind of money at all. there goes my freakin dreams because of parents. i hate them so much. they only dangle things in my face to show me what i cant have

that's too bad

But you know, you do not have to give up riding if you don't own a horse. There are PLENTY of horses in the world that need riding, probably some within walking/bicycling/driving/whatever distance of you. If not now, then definitely in less than six years

And speaking as a parent I just have to point out that with the economy like it is right now, NOBODY can afford all the things that they would like

Good luck,

if i can get this one person to come through with a two year old filly for me (even though it's the ugliest horse ive ever seen) it could work. shes free but never touched by people. im seeing broken bones in my future....
