My new quail

Pics
Update time! My quail have been laying like crazy! Today I pickled 77 quail eggs. After trying my trial batch last week, my CSA buddy has committed to purchasing 2 cases a month. So I will be pickling once a week about 70 eggs. I am getting $100 a case. Sweet! This will put my monthly farm expenses in the green. Which makes me VERY happy, and very fond of my quail.

I have also spent a bunch of time this week hangin in the quaviary and have identified all my males. Turns out I have four. I zip tie banded their legs for ID. I will try and get pictures of them tomorrow.

Got some photos of my male and everyone else today. These quail have been pumping out eggs and making me $$$. On the flip side the most dreaded task on my little homestead has become peeling quail eggs! Very much tedious.
The quail are hilarious and adorable. I love sitting in their area watching them utilize the tree branches and stuff. I have been turning/adding litter every 3 weeks or so. So far have used sod, last years leaf mulch from the garden and good old dirt and hardly notice any smell. Anyway, onto the pics. :) Start with some group.
