I just got a pair.
How long will it take for the males feathers to come back in?

Have you done your research right? Its not exactly good to just have a pair of coturnix as the male will try and mate with the female to much (personal experience). And arnt you already getting button quail eggs and you have already gotten another 50 eggs!I don't know if its just me but you are going a little too fast.

What swap meet did you get the tibetan's at and what about the Texas A&Ms, can you post a picture?

Do NOT put them anywhere near other birds for a month. Plus you shouldn't keep them in pairs. Even if that was all they had you shouldn't have gotten a pair home without sexing them at the swap. Remember what happened the last time you trusted some breeder? Also the females usually have the bald neck. The key to breeding good stock is to start with healthy stock. Never buy birds that are beat to pieces and missing feathers. That shows that they were not housed properly before. Since you posted a thread asking for info on coturnix why would you need to post that if you already bred them for your friend??

I just asked a question. They are in the garage also. I vent sexed them, and the one with the bald neck had foam.... I am going to separate the pair until my A&M's hatch, then I will put him with a few more hens.

The bald coturnix is more then likely the female not the male.
They get bald due to males plucking feathers as they breed.
Bald means to much male attention.
Bald means separate the male for a time and make sure the female has plenty of places to hide.

You really need to slow down and just work with 1 type of bird. I suggest Coturnix or Bobwhite.

Its best to learn and master 1 thing at a time then not learn and fail at all things..

That doesn't mean he is not a she. How do you think the eggs are fertilized? The foam has to go in somewheres... Clean them out, separate them and check again in the morning. That's the best way. Still I wouldn't use them as breeding stock. I never buy birds missing a lot of feathers. It means they have not been cared for properly. In this case they have been housed with too many roosters.
