Picked up 4 Seramas tonight. Got home and found a surprise. One of them laid an egg on the way home! I didn’t let them keep it because I don’t need bitty babies this time of year! I’m new to Seramas so don’t know a lot yet but I’m completely in love with them!

I only let my serama girls sit as they conspired together to hatch chicks, and I figured the two of them would be warm enough for the babies.
I’ve purchased a few breeding quality Seramas since discovering the four I have are mixed breed. They won’t ship until late February or early March though. I plan to let them sit instead of incubating.

The mix girls can still be good broodies even if not desirable to breed outside of curiosity sake.

I have one serama mix chick from a mix breed hen I took in, and am super curious what the baby will look like when older and especially if the chick will have a crest or not like the mum.

I hope you’ll post pictures as the chick ages. I’d love to see the progress!
