I just started using this web and sure how helpful you guys are so I was wondering if you could tell me how to tell they difference between a girl (pullet) or boy (rooster).

If you want a avatar then go to your profile and look for a button that says replace avatar and you click that and if you just want to post a pic you can't because you have to have 20 post

silkies are very hard to sex before 4-5 mos. of age- or when one lays eggs or crows, if that comes sooner. There are several silkie threads on BYC, some concerning color; like buff silkies, or partridge, etc. My favorite is one just called "Silkie Thread" (put that in the search box). In any case, if you post on the thread and put up clear, detailed close ups - someone may be able to tell you sooner. It's best to have a front head photo so the comb or lack of it shows up, and one body shot.
