Redhen - it's actually quite common to ship reptiles. I can point you in the direction where you can get you a tortie baby if you like?

PM me.

Aldabras are amazing, good luck breeding them!

Neonate tortie pics are a must, of course.

Do you know if Desert Tortoise's are illegal in Kansas? We have one named Rocky our neighbors gave him to us when they moved to Utah because his tank was a hassle to move with how big it is.

Emzyy - it is unlawful to touch, harm, harass or collect a wild Desert Tortoise.

However, it sounds like your tortie is a long time captive specimen. As far as I know, there are no specific laws in Kansas that prevent you from continuing to own your tortoise.

I would just die and be in heaven if I had tortoises! Your pens are amazing and so are your pets.

I used to have a box turtle named Clementine and she was very, very special to me and thus spoiled rotten. She ate better than me even! She loved her veges and most specially the crickets that I would dip in vitamin powder and hold by the legs while she nommed them.

We bought the Aldabras at The Reptile Show in Florida and a few from Las Vegas.
