My New Years Resolution...

You are just pouring a little flavoring into your water. You're still drinking the water, right?

I see no problem with that. I've also read a study that said that you can count coffee, tea, sugared (or artificially sweetened) drinks, etc., as your water intake for the day.

Alcohol doesn't count, though, as it is a diuretic. But I'm no doctor/nutritionist....

yes you are right to a certain point... you can count them as long as they are caffeine FREE cause caffeine is a diuretic too

there are many reasons to increase your water intake... aside from the obvious of preventing dehydration... its also to flush the liver and it will help flush toxins out of your sustem... if you are loading it up on artificial stuff you will still prevent dehydration but the benefit will not be as good as plain or naturally lightly flavored water (like the squirt of lemon in a 2L pitcher or cucumber wedges ect.)

thats funny... I drink mine room temp but I also drink distilled... if the water is cold it hurts my teeth... i am sensitive to cold.

I stay away from things like aspartame and artificial dyes. Stevia is a safe sweetener. I love iced tea made from herb teas. Minty or fruitylemony is especially good. They're really refreshing and don't have any caffeine in them. Sometimes I add a little healthy fruit juice to water. I also drink a lot of plain water, but sometimes I like something else, too. We have good well water here. It's healthy and it tastes good. Sometimes water tastes better cold. Try some after you brush your teeth with minty toothpaste, too.

I personally HATE artificial sweeteners. I buy raw processed sugar, unrefined (non white). Stevia gave me an aftertaste that I didn't care for.

I grew up drinking water all the time as a kid. I always played sports and drank water and every night at dinner. Since I have been on my own and aged (like fine wine) I don't find myself reaching for water. I have been going strong with water this year every day so far. i actually didn't drink any of the crystal light packs yesterday, just water with lemon slices. I love tea, well sweet tea (thanks for 7 year in NC). I do use Splenda now and I don't make it as sweet. I used to put regular sugar in my coffee but I have been using Splenda for the last 2 years. I really only bake with sugar any more. I do drink enough beer during the week to stay hydrated. LOL. My husband is happy that I am drinking plain water now. I just need to keep going strong and hope I dont get sick of it. I did have a can of soda for lunch, my 2nd soda of the year. Not to bad. Im not a heavy soda drinker anyways. Its those darn Orange crystal light packs that get me!

I am not a water drinker either, neither was my mom and my two sisters and brother aren't either . . .but I do drink iced tea and make a good organic green tea with it . . .so I feel like I am not doing too badly. Rarely if ever drink a soda. They are the evils of the world, but I have been using real sugar. I used the pink packets for years and years and decided that it can't be good. Am very excited to say I found Stevia at DG for $1 a box so going to try that . . .my daughter and her two girls drink water all the time, and DD always has lemon in hers. I just can't do it, try and try and just cannot get the hang of why everyone is so gaga on water.
