My newly cunstructed brooder!

In preparation for spring, I built myself a new brooder. I will also loan it out to my brother, who has had weasel problems brooding in the past, so I made it weasel proof. It measures 48"L X 32"W with 12" of head room inside. I have made a smaller one with the same design earlier and used it for quail. This one should brood 25 chicks until they are well on their way!





There will be paper in there for the first week or so, then bedding after that, I just took the pics with the bare bottom.

im building my in the next couple of days so i can get the chicks out of the bathroom...i might have to copy that, 4 feet is what i set a side in the big coop to put in a brooder ... nice design
