It seems that my next hatch is arriving early??

Either my dates were off when I set the eggs, or they decided the day of lock-down would be a good time to pip.

Egg Number two is in the corner, pipped, but not zipped.
Egg three I need to candle to see if it's still alive.....

Eggs, 4,5,6,7and 8 I still need to candle again. They were very dark a few days ago.....

Now, most of the time, I usually leave the turner in, but since we had some stuck chicks on the last hatch, I decided to remove it.

My FIL hatches with the turner in with no issues. I guess I have different luck....

for some years in my black bantam cochin breeding pen..all chicks hatched on day 18...at first i along with others all thought my temp was too high in still air bator ..102*...so each batch of eggs id lower temp until i was hatching at 99*..no turntable no fan..just turning by hand..when i started paying more attention to broody hens ha:tching they also hatched on day 18....my rooster passed away at 14 yrs old...but even up until his death was producing 18 day hatch babies..new rooster is normal at 21-22 days.

Egg three is pipping!

Eggs 4 and 5 are rocking and cheeping.

Eggs 6, and 7 are cheeping in the shells.

Egg 8 embryo is a Moving, but not fully developed.

Egg 9, same as 8 pretty much, it's a dark shell, so it's hard to tell....

Baralak, They are Barnyard chickens.

I have four roos and 26 hens. RIR's, Americaunas, WLH's, Bantams (the big ones), and two barnyard pullets.......

Very good!!! It's good to see you raise The ultra rare Bartralorpsland Rockorphex as well.

I have 11 currently, however, I'm fixen to fill my bator with some BO/RIR mixes, and SLW's !

Currently the only Straight Run chickens we have are the hens and roosters. The eggs and chicks are all barnyard.

My current chick is mostly black.

Bartralorpsland Rockorphex = Heinz 57 = mixed = mutts.. lol

The eggs that I hatched for the above breed, came from a guy that had BR's Astralorps, Road Islands, Orphingtons, and sussex.. with a little EE in there.. all together with several roosters.. thus the name of my designer breed

Bartralorpsland Rockorphex

Egg number 2 decided to be the first to hatch! Fresh from the egg!

Why do I like watching them hatch so much? It's addicting, but I guess this addiction is better than some others!

5 more to go!

2 of the eggs look like they are under-developed. I'm pretty sure I saw movement, so I am going to leave them in for a few more days.
