8'x 8' elevated coop. Nesting boxes accessable from outside. Large door in rear allows raking out old shavings. Sliding tray under roosts allow easier shaving replacement cause you know it needs it more often. I've had as many as 23 hens at one time. Sometimes 2 broody hens would crowd up in 1 nesting box. Good hens, all team players!
Run length is 32' X 8' including under coop. I went through 3 roosters before I found one that would protect the hens yet not attack humans cause I let them free range every 4-5 days. I guess word got around about that guy with the hatchet!
It cant be said too many times...USE HEAVY DUTY FIELD FENCING AT LEAST 3" UP THE SIDES AND 2' OUT BURIED. I lost my first 10 chicks thinking chicken wire would be fine. Something gnawed through the wire and killed all of them. No problems in 2 1/2 years since i installed the field fencing.
