On Monday, I had a very, very bad day. Now that I look back, it is funny (since all turned out well) and I thought you all might want to hear about it!
It all began when I gave my hens raw egg that had a poopy shell, so i couldn't give it away. I thought, "hey, i should clip my roosters toenails and put duct tape on his spurs so that the hen's back feathers can grow back." So as I was bending down to pick him up, a hen shook her head and flung some egg into my eye. I am very allergic to egg. Carrying my rooster, I attempted to wipe my eye out best I could. I thought, "I got it pretty much all out," and then I got the dog nail clippers and duct tape. I wrapped Napoleon's spurs, and as I was clipping his nails, my eye started to swell up. Then, I clipped too far on two of his nails and they started to bleed and I couldn't get them to stop. By now, my eye was really itchy, red, and swollen. I wrapped his toes up and put him in a crate on my back porch, took medicine for my eye, and ate lunch. He was freaking out on the back porch because the hens were squawking because they were laying. I decided to take him back and he seemed very lively. I was hoping my eye swelling would go down before a party I had to go to at 3, and luckily it did.
Thankfully, all turned out well, and now I can look back and laugh!
