What will you do with the babies when they grow?

There meat rabbits so they will be sold to people wanting some rabbit meat or someone wanting breeders and if anyone wants a big white pet rabbit. And i will keep couple of girls myself

aww too cute. Thanks for sharing the photo. My NZ also had 11 kits, which are now 2 weeks old.

Her biggest litter was 17

Just a heads up, Does are really wierd about any disturbance of thier nest! I cant speak for your doe, obviously, but it has been my experience, that even the most trusting, hand raised house doe will 'protect' her babies (by consuming them) if thier nest is disturbed too many times!

As exciting, and wonderful as it all seems, you may want to close up the box, and leave her to it for a couple weeks! Or, she may 'loose' a bunch of this litter too!

But then, if you know her real well, and she trusts you.... well, only you can make that call!

Either way, congrats! Arent they cute?!!

That can be true, but does that are used to their owners are much more trusting of disturbances. I've had to take out next boxes at night and return them during the day for severe cold, and vice versa for severe heat, and the does never ate any of their kits.

As a breeder I weigh my babies on a regular basis, and take photos of them outside the nestbox. I'm not recommending lots of handling, but just saying that the old school rule about that has changed a bit.

Your crazy does you gave me are living under the barn now. They feed with the gunieas and are huge. I live with Elmer Fudd so you know why they are still wild.

11 kits! I wish mine would. I just bred everyone about 2 weeks ago.
