Big red a Wyandotte/welsummer used to lay eggs like clock work. every other day she would lay between 11:00 am - 1:30 pm , there would be a nice brown speckled egg waiting for me. We did some shed remodeling last week (the coup is inside the shed) and she still kept laying. She stopped and is now 5 days over due for an egg. What happened ? Is the weather the reason it's been between 90-95 for the past 8 days. I have lots of water out to include extra bowls and have been feeding them watermelon which they all seem to like. We have 6 chicken the other 5 should start laying at the end of august according to the guy we bought them from. They have laying food 16% protien ,they have cracked corn/ sunflower seeds/pumpkin seed. We stopped the cider vinegar in their water because I read an article that said not to put it in their water when the temps are up there and not to overfeed the crack corn. We now put gatoraid in there water....They are also welcome to the figs when there ripe about every 3rd day & blackberries/cherries. I have checked there stool and it all looks normal but loose which is not unusual for this weather.
