My Husband bought me the TSC Country Classic XL coop and I bought this in the fall.. It's been painted all white.. This is when I picked it up. For 30.00 included everything inside. Included heat lamp large rabbit cage with purple bottom., feeder, water, fake owl, bucket, extra feeder and a nesting box a few other items. How many chickens can I get in this with a run about 8x 16?

What is the footprint inside of the floor? I don't think 8'x16'.

This will help get a answer. rule of thumb is 4 sq foot per bird on laying chickens.

I am think of attaching/adding nest boxes to the outside for more room!

16 square foot minus wall space. AT 4 SQ' per bird Id say 3-4. You will also need to make sure there is no direct breeze on the roost in your colder months. And for space concerns Id look at 2-3 nesting boxes that are built to protrude out of the coop, External. with 4 you may need some more roost space too.

I'm sure some one else will chime in here too.

Yes a protruding nesting box would be added. The already have on the side a wasted space flower box.. I figured I would add to it!

Ok. But no more than 4 large laying chickens. Anything more than build a new coop and use this as a broader.
The 8x16 run is good size for the 4 birds and could hold more. But your really limited with a 4x4 coop. And if like most on here you will most likely want more chickens next year.

Really liking to get 6 birds. I may have to expand the walls on this!
