It was so exciting when the quail I hatched started laying at 6 weeks old, then I had to wonder if they might be fertile because I didn't know if I had male, female, or what? I'm proud to announce the hatchings of my very own quail and here they are! There is also a pic of the different size eggs they lay, there is such a major difference I was surprised. I'm wondering if the one laying the tiny eggs is ok, and I also wonder if they could hatch? I put two Button eggs at the end of the line on the right side for a comparison of the two tiniest eggs mine lay. I've also figured out I have two male and 4 female in the pen of older birds. The new ones I have no idea.

They are so cute!

We had quail for years; button and farrow. They were fun to have around.

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, they are so much fun. The sounds they make are startling at first that's for sure, it sounds like a piece of tin metal being shaken.
