These are my first chickens so I am still green behind the ears, but everything I've read leads me to think that my Partridge Plymouth Rock pullet is actually a cockerel!
I'd love to hear your opinions.
- Currently 30 days (4 weeks) old
- He carries himself differently from the other pullets
- Very slow to feather in
- Only just started developing at tail at 3 weeks old
- Bare patches on the tops of his elbows
- Wings are shaped differently, didn't start feathering out until recently, primary feathers are shorter
- Much, much larger comb and wattles than the pullets. Also much redder!
- Larger overall, chunky, big meaty legs (vs. the others)
Here are some photos taken this week (4 1/2 weeks). These are all the same bird!
