Glor,n everyone else sooo saddened found out my hubby didnt watch the incubator all these weeks will ive been working n none of my peas or ckns will be hatching, dont expect my nuscoveys to make it either.guess its not meant for me to incubate eggs, also my white peahen was found dwad yesterday morning....no clue why but her egg she laud 14 days ago was not fertile

OK she has been wormed with safe guard paste. I am also giving her a scoop of sweet feed a day to help her gain a little weight. I can see ribs slightly and that really bothers me LOL. Today only a few of them you can see. It's funny she follows me all the way to the cellar door LOL She waits for me to come out through the same door but I end up going out the back door LOL she comes a running over LOL. She will not eat treats and I do not know why. I tried Purina apple treats and she stuck her nose up at them. I tried fresh baby carrots and she did the same theing to them.

Some horses have to be taught to eat carrots, apples and treats.... Maybe try dicing the carrots into very small pieces, or you can do what I've done, lol, put them in your mouth, chew on them, then spit them back into your hand, she might try them like that or mabye put them in with her grain. Several of mine love mint candies and go nuts when they hear me unwrapping them. So keep trying,

If you want to put weight on her with food, You could try some stabilized rice bran, it has lots of fat. There are other foods, too, like shreaded beet pulp and bagged feeds from Purina, like Strategy... Thoroughbreds are well known for being hard to keep weight on and I've found that mine do best when given free choice alfalfa, which ends up being about 300 pounds of hay a week, but I've never had pasture, so I'm doubt that one on pasture could eat that much hay and grass, lol.

Edited to add: FWIW, if you got some alfalfa hay, you could also feed it to your peafowl... Miy peas eat just the leaf and lay their eggs in the stems, it is also a good source of calcium.

I got my reply from the thoroughbred racing protective bureau and I sent them a picture of the horse and one of the tattoo. They sent me the information on the wrong horse. My horse number is H25979 and they sent me info on K28979. I will call them on Monday.

To keep with topic most of my chicks are hens
yesss.gif
I am happy with that because the peafowl hens sell for lots of money at the monday auctions. The last 2 hens sold for $750 for both and they were IB. 99% of the peafowl sold at the auction are males and they average $100-200 each. You do not know what you are getting but with mine they will know what kind of penhen they are - split to charcoal

Oh darn, I was looking forward to seeing her pedigree.

Glad most of your chicks are hens, wish I coul say the same

Had a chick hatch today 7/30 will post pictures tomorrow.
Got another horse named Sophia a 15 year old quarter horse papered and will post them as well. I need one for someone else to ride so I don't ride alone LOL

Yes I went through that website. I was told that the information they sent was true. The person who tattooed her was doing the wrong number and tried to fix it plus the horse was lifting her head. The number inside her mouth is actaully K28979. The "H" is the "K" she said and the horse moved so it looks like and h. The 5 the person tried to turn into an 8 and if you look at the picture of the tattoo she said the first nine was a 7. When I put in the tattoo as I read it H25979 it comes up a bay gelding with no white at all. If you put in the right number K28979 it comes up her and all the markings are identical. So I got a just turned 6 year old race horse "Stick By Me Baby!"
