I've got a peacock pair and last year we were able to successfully hatch 3 of their eggs into healthy big birds :) But, it was June when we got eggs from her.

4 days ago she laid an egg, then another one 3 days ago. We had an unusual warm snap (near 60 in northeastern PA) - could this have anything to do with it? Do peacocks lay in a season like guniea hens?

I've put one of the eggs (she broke the other one) under a broody chicken just to see what happens....

Well, I have never had peacock lay an egg

. But I do have a couple of peahens that have not stopped laying since last breeding season and have no idea whats up with that

none of the eggs are fertile because the male isn't doing his thing, usually breeding season starts around April or May, we don't start keeping eggs until we hear the victory song and then

hope for the best. And I do thank that the weather is effecting everything right now. Good luck this breeding season.

If you raise peafowl then you have heard the victory yell the male makes before or when he mounts the hen, I can't tell you what it sounds like but it is a single high pitch yell (Victory Song,

). Don't know how else to explain it.

P.S. Mine also do it before they mount, so I have fixed it so not to confuse anyone that is new to the peafowl world.
