My Pekin duckling's huge stomach

Grit will not help prevent nor treat crop impactions, the crop is simply a holding pouch, very little digestive activity and movement goes on. What you need to do is stop feeding fibrous treats like greens, get the ducklings on a Poultry Cruble Feed, with some added niacin, that's it.

I would monitor the duckling's weight, each morning each night, if there is no significant weight gain she needs to be taken into a vet. If her stools start to become more watery then usual I would take her to a vet. How does it feel?

I knew that the grit wasn't going to solve the problem she has now. I just knew that it should have been given in the first place and should be given once this condition has hopefully passed.

So, on to this present condition. Wasn't there something about massaging the crop to make what's in it go one way or the other?

Oh, sorry if that came out harsh, that's what I thought you meant, I was just clarifying. It's a very common misconception.

I guess I might first make sure it's an impacted crop, if it feels like it's filled with air it may be a ruptured air sac, if it's hard, and the duckling's stool is looseer then usual, or she's acting lethargic I may think an Impacted crop. If its an impacted crop the duckling should really see a vet soon. Weighing the duckling, and monitoring stool and behavior will all be good indicators of the bird's state of health, so I would start doing that ASAP.
