Hello everyone! I joined here a little while ago and would like to be more of a part of the community, so I thought I would just make a fun post with a couple of photos of my two Pekins. They were given to me in August but were hatched in April of last year, the lady truly cared for them but felt she didn't have enough space to give them justice. They are my first, but I have always loved fowl and poultry. They have about a 30 ft run as part of my barn that has both a covered and uncovered portions, and also a little house for them to sleep in. However they spend the majority of their time roaming the three acres of my front yard, and of course the lovely stream flowing through it! They are super friendly and personable, I love having them here and they add so much character to "the cabin". I kept their names, the duck being Over Easy or "Easy" and the drake is Sunny Side Up or "Sunny"!

This was their first experience with snow, I was worried with how they would handle winter but they appear to be holding up admirably.

Easy discovered she can see her reflection in my truck.

I did have a couple inquiries, first off the drakes plumage seems to have taken on a tan hue and the duck has remained more white. He also appears to have a sort of scalloping effect to the feathers on his breast. Is this normal? They otherwise appear to be the image of health, and happy birds. I feed them a pellet from Southern States that is a waterfowl specific blend with 18% protein, is this good? The duck has been a fantastic layer since I have had them. Thanks in advance!

I love your pekins. So soft and fluffy puffy.

Thank you both so much! I think they look and act very healthy but I admittedly do not have much experience so a second opinion is always welcomed. Super stoked about potential babies and will for sure be making plenty of updates!!
