My Pekin eggs are hatching! My Pekin eggs are hatching!

We have no 10 adult chickens and no roo. This year 4 of our BA's went broody. We may not have roos but we do have a drake!

Soooo...

My hens have been brooding duck eggs. The first batch all died - an egg exploded, she stepped on one, etc.

There are still two eggs left under another BA and they are hatching!!!!

I'm a nervous wreck watching her. I hope she likes the babies. Not even sure which BA is on the nest now because they have all been taking turns on the two nests. We have fenced off her area of the coop so they don't compete for the ducklings.

I want babies!!!!

I once had hens hatch ducklings, and they did just fine with them. Babies are babies to a broody hen.
